I just posted Joshua Radin’s song, “Star Mile,” on my DI Soundtrack page, but really, he just has one amazing song after another. And since nobody really visits my music vid blog, I feel compelled to share Joshua here with you all.
This one is titled “Closer.”
Well, everybody hurts sometimes,
Everybody cries. And everybody hurts sometimes
And everybody hurts sometimes. So, hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
Everybody hurts. You are not alone
I was watching that Luke Wilson and Uma Thurman movie today about Uma being a super-hero and a crazy ex girlfriend (and I’m too lazy to IMDB search for the title) and I heard this song played during the credits and I really liked it.
The artist was Donovan Frankenreiter.
Weird name, I know.
But if you like Jack Johnson, you’ll like this guy.
So here for your enjoyment, “It Don’t Matter”
Everyday people like, you and me
Just want to live naturally
Time told you, and you told me
Nothing gonna get us down
Can’t you see
I said
If it don’t matter to you
It don’t matter to me
If it don’t matter to you
It don’t matter to me
People all around
Making sounds and all kinds of noise
If I could only get there
Then I could enjoy
Who they trying to be
Who they trying fool
Lets change the mood right now
Turn down the lights, its time to cool it down
If it don’t matter to you
It don’t matter to me
If it don’t matter to you
It don’t matter to me
Yesterday and what we could be
It don’t matter
Getting more of what we don’t need
It don’t matter
Everything, unless I’m with you
It doesn’t matter to me, no
Bring it on down, bring it on down to me
Sing it on down, sing it on down for me
Sing it on down, sing it on down to me
If it don’t matter to you
It don’t matter to me
No, no, no, no
If it don’t matter to you
It don’t matter to me
Mmmm hmmmm
I said
If it don’t matter to you
It don’t matter to me
No, no, no, no
If it don’t matter to you
It don’t matter to me
Sometimes it don’t matter to me
Don’t matter to me
“Hey There Delilah”
Hey there Delilah
What’s it like in New York City?
I’m a thousand miles away
But girl tonight you look so pretty
Yes you do
Times Square can’t shine as bright as you
I swear it’s true
Hey there Delilah
Don’t you worry about the distance
I’m right there if you get lonely
Give this song another listen
Close your eyes
Listen to my voice it’s my disguise
I’m by your side
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
What you do to me
Hey there Delilah
I know times are getting hard
But just believe me girl
Someday I’ll pay the bills with this guitar
We’ll have it good
We’ll have the life we knew we would
My word is good
Hey there Delilah
I’ve got so much left to say
If every simple song I wrote to you
Would take your breath away
I’d write it all
Even more in love with me you’d fall
We’d have it all
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
A thousand miles seems pretty far
But they’ve got planes and trains and cars
I’d walk to you if I had no other way
Our friends would all make fun of us
and we’ll just laugh along because we know
That none of them have felt this way
Delilah I can promise you
That by the time we get through
The world will never ever be the same
And you’re to blame
Hey there Delilah
You be good and don’t you miss me
Two more years and you’ll be done with school
And I’ll be making history like I do
You’ll know it’s all because of you
We can do whatever we want to
Hey there Delilah here’s to you
This ones for you
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
What you do to me.
You all know how I love Hellogoodbye… I just saw this video on MySpace and felt I had to share it. Maybe I’ll eventually get around to doing something with all the videos I took at Bamboozle (including Hellogoodbye and MC Hammer, oh yeah).
Sweet! Spankingblog.com also picked up my story, Just Get it Over With! And they sure drove a hell of a lot of people my way! Hi people! Welcome!
Speaking of hot, did anyone else get to enjoy the gorgeous day yesterday???
I did! And I got the sunburn to prove it! But you know, I tried so hard to be good! I put on 50SPF and even was reapplying it throughout the day and I still got burnt! A couple little spots were probably just areas that I missed, like spots right next to my shirt straps, but my chest got all burnt and I definitely didn’t miss a spot that big!
And I gotta go outside all day again today too.
Why, you ask?
BAMBOOZLE!! For me though, the good stuff is already over. I went entirely to see Hellogoodbye, and OMG it was so freaking awesome!! I loved them!! It was so exciting!
Know who else I got a kick out of?
MC HAMMER!!! That’s right. I actually saw MC Hammer perform live. And you bed he did “Can’t Touch This.” Never in a million years would I have thought I’d see MC Hammer perform! He’s pretty good actually! But, it was a little odd seeing him at a rock festival…just sayin’.
So, I really don’t know a lot of the bands, but I heard some that I liked. This one small band, Ronnie Day was really good. Noelle and I really like the lyrics. And I got turned onto Cartel and New Found Glory.
MCR (My Chemical Romance, for anyone that doesn’t know) was the big band at the end of the night, and I really only know Black Parade, and that was fun when they did that song. But none of us are really into them, so we left after a couple of songs, once Black Parade was sung. (Us being me, Noelle, and her boyfriend. Our old roommate Leslie was there too and we met up (not an easy thing!) and said hi. She’s a huge MCR fan (totally emo, my cute Leslie, lol). But, for not being that into MCR, I can say they give a pretty good show! (Though, sometimes I could barely see them through all the fog on stage…) And, they are from Jersey after all. I do like to support those Jersey bands.
But yeah, we’re all really excited for Linkin’ Park tonight though. And the 2 bands I know today are Yellowcard and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. Noelle’s boyfriend is totally into that awful screaming, kill yourself music, and I can’t stand it. Like, I really just can’t be around it, so I’m going to have to busy myself with concession stand lines probably.
Ugh. Those concession stands are nuts. Everything’s super-duper expensive ($5 for a 10oz smoothie! $3.50 for a 20oz Pepsi!) And yesterday, I was dying of thirst and went to go wait in line for a drink, and it took me 20 minutes! And it wasn’t even that long, but the guy was seriously slow! He took forever making change, and even when I was standing there, he gave a guy the wrong change, and was a little slow about getting that $5 on a $3.25 water makes $1.75 change, not $1.25 And I totally missed seeing like the whole Cartel set. I could still listen since I was right there, but the soundboard scaffold was right in front of me.
You know what amazed me though? More than seeing so many Emo people in one place, and more than seeing so many young people in one place, it amazed me to see so many sunburned people in one place! Like people who obviously didn’t put any sunscreen on! It was unreal! Like, they’re outside all day, on a very sunny day…and then they have to suffer all day today with it. Luckily, since I had some sunscreen on, my burn isn’t too bad. It looks worse than it is. I’m just glad it doesn’t itch!
Noelle’s itches, lol. Cause she didn’t bother to put any on her back! See? Serves her right!
Ugh, I wanna go back to sleep. Noelle and her boyfriend were fidgeting this morning after his phone rang, and the sheet rustling woke me up…I know, it sounds weird. But hearing them up made me think that I was supposed to be up since I didn’t know what time it was.
But my body and feet are definitely not looking forward to standing and walking around all day again today. Or sitting on the filthy ground. Unnhhh…*shudder*
I left there feeling so disgusting and dirty last night! There was gross puddles in front of some of the concession stands and I had to stand in the water (it wasn’t deep really) and it got on my jeans and the bottoms of them are just filthy now, like absoultely disgusting. I’m so washing them in like bleach (color safe) after today!
And then! I went into a portapotty near the end of the night, and it was dark so I couldn’t see a whole lot and I sat down on a wet seat!!!! And I don’t know what it was wet from!!! I can really only assume it was pee!!! Someone else’s pee! And it was really intense. It wasn’t just a little bit. Like it was enough to drip a little. And I went to reach for toilet paper as I was dry heaving, and there was none. OMG it was just awful. I wanted to cry, really.
So those were yesterday’s adventure’s, let’s see what today’s will be…!
I always loved the Outback Steakhouse jingle…”Let’s go Outback tonight, life will still be there tomorrow….”
And I was saying in my painting class today how much I liked it and wished it was a real song, and a guy (who happens to be a waiter there) informed me it was, and proceeded to give me the artist and title!!
So here, Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games, by Of Montreal
It’s not really a video, so just listen to the song.
