And the Adventures Continue

authorAvah | July 28, 2008

So, I’m back from Paris. Got home late last night because my plane had been delayed for 3 hours! It was supposed to take off at 9:10pm but didn’t take off until around 12:30am. I was mostly pissed because it meant I couldn’t take the bus home since it stopped running at midnight which meant I would have to take a cab. And I did, and it was 35 Euro (54 dollars!!!). I heard plenty of sorry’s and I got a measly coupon for food at the airport, but a free drink doesn’t make up for having to pay $54 for a cab when I should have had to! I think I’ll be writing the company a letter!

But anyways, Paris was amazing. I’ll start there and then talk about what I did the rest of the week I guess.

I got into Paris Thursday night and headed to my friend’s apartment near the Eiffel Tower. She was nice enough to give me her bed and take the couch which was great. And she had a real mattress which was such a treat! I slept like a baby every night there! Unfortunately though I got a cold- I felt it developing on the plane and even more so as we talked a bit before going to bed. So when I woke up Friday morning, I was miserable. I felt awful and my nose was so drippy. My friend had already gone to work, so I was on my own to find cold medicine.

After showering and checking e-mail, I headed out for the day and searched first for a pharmacy. Luckily they’re easy to find in France because they all have big green crosses out front. So I found one and the pharmacist spoke English so I told him I needed something for my cold. Cold medicine in hand, I headed to a photography museum I had looked up online, but only to find when I got there the building was under renovation! Oh well. I headed to my next destination- Pompidou Center, the big modern art museum. In all the times I’ve been to Paris, I’d only been in once and just saw an exhibit (on Hitchcock!) while I was there.

I started at the top and saw an exhibit about the Sacred in Art and really enjoyed it. I liked it both because it was layed out well (which not all museums have going for them) and because the subject matter was interesting. I thought there were some really great pieces. It was a pretty big exhibit, almost the whole top floor I guess, and it took me at least an hour to see it all. I ended up buying a book on the exhibit, but in French since I didn’t see one in English.

After the exhibit I went to the lower floors where they have the permanent collection but pretty much just focused on the floor with the 1st half of the 1900s. I really hate a lot of art after 1960 (and even a few movements before that. Don’t get me started on Cubism and Dada!). I liked a lot of stuff in the permanent collection too. I saw a lot of great Chagall’s, and Matisse pieces, and some nice Fauvist works. Eventually though I was starting to get tired so once I finished the floor I started to head out.

I still had a few hours before I would meet my friend after work, so I looked on the map and saw I was close to Pere Lachaise- the big cemetery where a lot of famous people are buried (most famously know is of course Jim Morrison). So I headed over and looked at the map at the entrance to see who was buried where and wrote down a few names and locations- but it’s very difficult to find people. The place is absolutely enormous and it doesn’t flow entirely logically. I was able to find Seurat fairly easily. I went hunting for David, but he was far in some back section and then deeper into the section (rather then being on the outskirt). Eventually I gave up trying to find the other people and just went searching for Jim Morrison. His I knew I’d be able to find because there would just be a lot of people around. And I was right.

So I snapped a few pictures and finally headed home. So, here, for anyone that cares:

I was more than exhausted after that, plus my nose was dripping even more so I made my way back home. I fell asleep for a few minutes until my friend came home.

We went out to dinner together when she did, and at first she thought of one place, but after seeing the menu, I saw it was way too fancy for my taste buds so we went searching for something else. We passed a crepe place and after mentioning I’ve never actually had a sweet crepe, it was decided we’d eat there for dinner.

I had a salty ham and cheese crepe for dinner and then an oh so yummy banana and chocolate with whipped cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream sweet crepe for dessert! It was soooooo good! I think I’ll try to have a few more crepes before I come home on Wednesday.

After that we walked over to the Eiffel Tower because I hadn’t seen what color it was lately. It’s been lit up Blue and on one side has the stars of the EU because I think for 6 months, France is the head of the EU, or something like that. I don’t know. But it looks really cool. And it still sparkles every hour (it’s been doing that since 2000).

The next day was a long day. I woke up late, around noon, but needed it because of my cold. We set out and headed over to Notre Dame, looked around inside briefly, but our main goal was to go up and see the gargoyles. Except the line was obscenely long and wasn’t moving at all. It probably would have taken 2 hours just to wait in line and climb all the steps! 466 of them, which I was fine with not climbing because with my cold, going up stairs made me a tad dizzy.

We instead found somewhere for lunch. I had a yummy meal with a steak and potatoes au gratin and a yummy little chocolate cake for dessert. (I had been so frugal with eating out this whole month I decided to stop looking at prices of food and just enjoying since it’s my last few days.)

We then headed over to Hotel de Ville (City Hall) and looked around there and then walked along the Seine where they set up something called Paris Plage . We walked quite a bit of ways, ending up near the national library. We then walked a bit through this promenade garden which was a walkway with gardens on this old train tracks overpass thing. I dunno. It was cute. But after 5 hours of walking, I was exhausted!

We headed home and after resting for a few minutes, my friend ran to the store to get some food for a picnic on the Champ de Mars (the big law in front of the Eiffel Tower). We headed over to meet some of her friends and it was fun! There was a lot of food, but I actually wasn’t too hungry after such a big lunch (and also because of my cold), so I just nibbled on a few things here and there. It was all girls, and they were speaking French, so I didn’t really know what was going on, but sometimes I understood some things. It was still fun sitting under the Eiffel Tower and having a French picnic.

Eventually we started to feel some rain, only light though, but we all packed up and headed back. My friend and I ended up biking home using this new system called the Velib’ which is a bike program in France where it’s basically dirt cheap (1Euro for a day) to rent bicycles. It’s pretty cool.

We went straight to bed because we were both so exhausted.

Sunday I slept even later! Until 1pm! I couldn’t believe it. It was like 13 hours of sleeping. I must have needed it. It unfortunately cut into the day a bit, but oh well. It’s not like I haven’t been to Paris before and it’s not like I won’t be back.

We (I) wanted to see the Tour de France so we stopped for lunch and had yummy pizza before walking over to near the Eiffel Tower (again) to find a spot to see the guys on their way to the Champs-Élysées. We waited around for over an hour and eventually they came and went all in 10 seconds. The anticipation wasn’t quite worth it. But I got pictures, so it’s cool.

After that we biked over to the Rodin Museum where we walked around the garden for a bit and made a quick stop at Invalides as I had to get back to my friend’s place to get my stuff and head to the airport (but really, there was no hurry!). So that was my weekend in Paris!

Which took awhile to write, so perhaps I’ll write what I did the rest of the week later, because I’m burning daylight right now and I need to get a move on my 2nd to last day here! :(

I don’t want to leave France!!!

What I learned for next time

authorAvah | June 10, 2008

I think the one thing I learned from this party was to not make so much food!

I should keep dinner parties and orgies separate I think.

Next time I’ll be inviting more people. I kept the guest list fairly small for the first time. I invited my closest friends- you know, the ones that love me enough to give me a 2nd chance had this party bombed. But it went so well! And everyone said they had a good time! And yes, they loved all the food.

I was so Susie Homemaker it was insane. The house was immaculate when people arrived and I had dinner all prepped and ready to go. The veggies were cut and put on cute fish platters (it’s a shore house!). The keilbasa was cut and ready to go in the oven. The corn was husked and the water in the pot ready to be boiled. Hamburgers formed and ready to be grilled!

All I needed were the people!

Match and Prince arrived first from DC and we hung out and chatted for awhile while we waited on the others.

But the others didn’t come for awhile.

Adam called and said he had a flat on the parkway, just a few exits from me. So he, Emma (his fiancée), and Rachel (his girlfriend) would be a little bit.

And then I called Jefferson who was driving down with Callie and her boyfriend and they were lost, but in the town, so not far. So they would be there soon as well.

Jocasta and Zelda weren’t coming until around 9.

That’s ok. I wasn’t on schedule, but I could adapt. I’m flexible.

(Insert minor anxiety attack).

Eventually everyone came around 8:30 and I immediately started to put dinner up. I banished Jefferson to the grill (in the 90 heat, yes) as I set the table and got everyone drinks.

I had a lovely spread on the table and it wasn’t long before we sat down for a fun dinner. I took the head of the table, which I never do, but felt it was my place as the hostess. Someone called for a toast, but I don’t have much experience, so Adam led a lovely toast to me for having everyone over for a great night.

To me! Cheers :)

Of course as soon as we started eating Jocasta and Zelda arrived so I hurried to get them plates and chairs.

When dinner was finished I managed to clear the table in record time (shhh, don’t tell my mom). Though I had plenty of help (as much as I protested!).

Then it was play time! I changed into my corset as the party started getting rolling.

Zelda had brought some of her dungeon furniture so we mused over where to set it all up. The massage table ended up in the kitchen, the double cross near the side door, and the suspension rig in the living room.

Jo tied me up to begin the night with. She wanted to practice what she’d do this week for a photo shoot we’ll be doing together. My 1st time in front of a camera! Though, as a photographer, I’m totally geeking over the fact it’s going to be an 8×10 camera the photographer is using!

The tie was cool, though she tried to get up on one foot and that just wasn’t happening. She wrapped rope around my eyes as well as part of it (per the photographer), but I couldn’t see so I had her undo it so I could check out the rope job in the mirror.

Match started having his fun when Zelda asked him to pierce her.

Callie was happy cumming and being spanked at the hand of her boy, Zach.

Rachel was busy being hit on by Jefferson.

Everyone was having fun and I was so happy for that.

But damn if I wasn’t pooped already! I hadn’t gotten much sleep Friday night and woke up semi-early on Saturday to do last minute cleaning. I vacuumed, mopped, chopped, washed dishes, washed counters and repeated both a few times. I made beds, threw random things in closets, ran last minute food shopping, and waited anxiously for everyone to arrive. On time.

It occurred to me as I was cleaning up from dinner (and washing dishes yet again) that once everyone left, I’d have to clean yet again. D’oh! Though not quite as much thankfully.

Eventually it got late. You know, like 3am. Jo and Zelda had already packed up and headed home (Zelda can’t sleep in a strange place), Prince already fell asleep out on the porch (he liked the warm weather) so I started tucking people into beds.

Match was a help, making sure everyone was comfortable with everything they needed. When everyone was settled he and I retired to my room. We settled in bed and he cuddled into me and apologized for neglecting to really touch me all night as it wasn’t his intention. I assured him it was fine as I went down on his cock. I assured him it was really fine as he made me cum 5 or 6 times that night before we fell asleep.

The next morning I woke up, mostly because I heard stirring about and knew that if people were up, I’d need to start on breakfast.

I cleaned up a few dishes from the night before before starting the water for the potatoes and slicing up the watermelon. I had plans to make home fries from scratch (which, by the way I’d never made before). As the potatoes boiled I started cooking the peppers and onions which my sous-chef Zach had offered to chop (I won’t turn down someone’s offer to chop the onion!). Once the potatoes were in the pan, I put Jefferson on bacon duty. Once the potatoes were done I did the eggs. I’m telling you- Susie Homemaker!

The icing on the cake was the danish I had gotten that I was raving about all night and morning.

We had another lovely meal and cleaned up minimally before heading to the beach! In a heat wave!!

It was fun though. Callie’s going to be bummed she missed out I think. She and Zach had to leave with Jefferson because he had “work” to do.

Everyone went in the water, like all the way. Except me. Because I’m not crazy. Water was COLD! Except it was so hot, I did have to put my feet in to cool off a bit.

Eventually it was time to go as Match and Prince needed to head on the road.

So all and all it was a great party.

Adventurous Food

authorAvah | February 6, 2008

Wow, I had an amazing dinner last night! I went out with Denzel, whom I haven’t seen or spoken to since the summer of 2006. He e-mailed me a few weeks ago saying he had broken up with his girlfriend and wanted to know if I was interested in getting together again. I liked him, so I of course said yes.

We met up last night as his place and he took me out to this nice Italian restaurant called Salute. It was a fairly upscale menu, though not too stuffy in atmosphere, which was nice. Though most people who know me know I’m not the most exciting eater. I’m quite picky in fact. But I can at least usually find something at an Italian restaurant.

We decided that night to both be a little adventurous in our selections, so for my main course I decided to pick the lasagna with wild boar and spinach in a bechmel sauce. He was even more daring chosing one of the specials that night of risotto with squid ink and mint.

Ugh. Lol.

My meal was quite delicious. I had cesar salad with yummy fresh dressing, the lasagna, and a yummy warm chocolate souffle dessert with an ooey-gooey center.

Denzel didn’t have as good as luck. He liked his steak tartare, but the risotto came out, and really it was as disgusting as it sounds. I didn’t dare try it, but it came out and it was this gray mess of a meal. Denzel said it was both fishy and bland at the same time, and then came the mint. He had 4 bites and that was all he could manage. Dessert was on the house that night.

Like last time, I sat through the dinner with a buzzing egg in me. I was much better at concentrating though. Go me! Lol. I almost asked him to turn it on high so I could finish, but I don’t know if I would have really been able to let myself do that in the middle of the restaurant.

But damn if I wasn’t freaking horny when we got back to his place! But we took care of that.

With the amazing sex. Ho-lee fuck! The man, besides having a beast of a cock, has this magic ability to just center in on my g-spot.

It certainly worked to bring my libido back, which had been waning for the last week or so (of course no thanks to my cold…).

It’s funny how having sex only makes me more horny. Bah.

But, I think we’ll have a good time when we get together for our weekend, which we’re finally doing after a year and a half!

No More Food!

authorAvah | December 26, 2007

I’ll be a little while before you hear me complaining about not having enough to eat.  I’ve been eating non-stop for days since I got home Friday.  It started with Ham and Mac and Cheese Friday night and then the left-overs Saturday night.

Sunday family came so we had our first Christmas dinner- appetizer, soup, roast beef, sides and desserts.

Christmas Eve dinner I discovered the wonders of Prime Rib and made my way through 2 pieces.  More desserts.

Christmas Day dinner was an Italian dinner so lasagna, more ham, sides and I barely managed to eat a small cookie for dessert.

Tonight was simple with just me and mom getting some pizza.

Holidays were pretty good.  I was in a funky PMS mood, but managed to push through it each day.  I made out pretty good present wise, especially considering I had already gotten my computer.  But I got cash, gift cards (even one to the supermarket!), clothes, undies, body washes!

Saturday and Monday I took some pictures round the country side and I’m excited to go develop them this week.  I’m actually going back to one spot tomorrow to quickly get a roll of something in color, because I think it deserves it.  Monday I fell though when I was taking pictures.  :(  I was only across the street, but I was in a field and the snow had turned to ice and I was oh so careful but one false step and I slipped and fell knee first on to the ice, breaking through and soaking my pants in cold, dirty water.  But my camera was fine!

Of course now my knees are all bruised and my entire right leg is sore.

But I went to the chiropractor today which was nice.  My mom goes there and they’re nice.  I got a little adjustment and then got some TENS on my lower back and got a super nice all over back massage.

(And I gotta say, after getting a professional massage, I really think Jefferson’s massages aren’t half bad!  If anything it was more relaxing having a naked man doing it, hehe.  I might have to just start making weekly appointments with him purely for a back massage…)

My parents leave tomorrow for a long weekend in Prague, so I’m heading back to my dorm to stay out of the way of our dog sitter who I’m just not in the mood to socialize with.  No big deal, I’ll have a few days to work in the dark room before heading down to DC for New Year’s.  So then hopefully I do some good work this weekend and scan some new work in next week and I can start the sales!

Ooowee!
