Fare thee well!
I’ve managed to switch over to Wordpress. I’d really like to get Nucleus working, but that might take a little work. But, I kind of like Wordpress, so we’ll see.
The template is not necessarily permanent (though I like it!). You know me and wanting something custom. And I just love to tinker.
I’ve learned a lot actually in the past 24 hours in terms of hosting and websites and such. I can navigate my file manager with ease already. I’ve learned the usefulness of an FTP program. Though, uh, mySQL is still a mystery to me. I think I have a book on it at my beach house I’ll have to skim over the summer.
But I successfully moved all my posts, comments, categories, and EVEN permalinks! That was the tricky part. So all my Sugasm submissions, any post-specific links people may have out there will get directed to the new address!
Needless to say, I’m feeling a bit smug.
And, with all this webspace I have, I imagine I’ll be making some web pages. Maybe posting pictures, my art, and what-not.
Ooh- let me go make sure my feed is updated and working.
And as an FYI- I signed up with SiteGround, and I’m really quite pleased with how easy it is to use. It already comes with blog platforms and they’re so easy to install. And my plan was cheap. $6.00/month and because I signed up for the year, my domain was free and my set-up was free. I have 40GB of space, and 900GB! of monthly bandwidth! Plus there’s all this other cool shit I don’t even understand yet.
I paid another $2/month ($24 for the year) to register my domain privately. (Sorry stalkers! I’m tech savvy enough to know about that!)
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some ganache I need to refrigerate.

In terms of the feed, I think you guys may have to update the source on your aggregators (bloglines, google reader, whatever else you use). I’ll do some research and see if maybe you don’t have to change it and get back to you. But if not, it should be simple enough for you to just switch.

Avah, wow - I’m impressed — every right to feel a bit smug - in fact - go for it and feel a lot smug - you are some kind of techno princes of something…I’ve been a silent fan of yours, but thought I’d come out of the closet to say congrats on the new look!
